Let Others Help You Heal

It seems like for every possible thing that could be bothering us, there is a support group out there that we can seek help from. Many people laugh off these support groups or can not see themselves sharing the problems with others that they are experiencing.

A support group is a bunch of people that get together that have experienced similar experiences. They could be a weight loss group, AAA group, mothers against drunk drivers group, loss of a loved one group, and groups of a similar shared illness, etc., etc. There is just so many out there.

Why there are so many of these support groups out there? That is because over the years we have found that they really work for people. You get not only to share you story but to hear many people who have similar stories like yours. Being involved in a group can give you support, make you not feel alone, and maybe even help you find some answers that you seek.

I bet there have been many great friendships formed from support groups. What better friend then to be able to share everything and know that they are there for you and understand the things you are feeling and going through. You also get to be there for someone else and in helping to heal them, you heal yourself too.

If you want to find a support group in your area, look in the newspaper, they usually have some listing. If you don't find one there look on the Internet, like in craigs list, they have some listed there. Your church, YMCA, or local hospital should also be able to guide you.

If you are struggling with something that is bringing you down and you don't know where to turn, try to look for a support group in your area that deals in an area comparable to yours. Once you are there I know you will feel better just to know you are not alone. This might be the best thing you have ever done for yourself and you are worth it.
